Quick guide
What microgreens are
Microgreens, also known as micro plants, are young edible seedlings harvested in their first stages of growth, 7 to 14 days after sowing. They are known for their intense flavour and crisp texture, which is why they are used more and more in gourmet and healthy cooking.
How to use them in the kitchen
- Raw. The most common way, as they keep all their flavour. In salads, sandwiches, wraps, pizzas, tacos and other dishes.
- In smoothies. For a fresh, green touch.
- Cooked. Lightly sautéed, or added at the end to soups, stews and sauces.
- As a side. With meat, fish or tofu.
- To garnish. They add colour and texture to the plate.
